Client A European manufacturer of innovative / premium Food & Beverage products.
Objective(s) The client wanted to understand whether Chinese consumers would welcome their innovative / premium product. In case of a positive response from Chinese consumers, the client also wanted to identify effective distribution channels.
Project In-depth consumer research was conducted to evaluate Chinese consumers' acceptance of the products, taste, pricing as well as preference for product packaging. In parallel, a thorough industry analysis was also conducted to understand competition, distribution and possible business models. Given the overall encouraging response from consumers and market conditions, we selected and negotiated a deal with one of the major foreign retail chains in China to launch the client’s products.
 

Enter the Market

Client Top worldwide manufacturer of B2B components for bulk handling industry.
Objective(s) To source and sell their products in China, the client needed to find the optimal location and legal setup option to establish their presence.
Project We conducted a comprehensive geographical analysis of potential customers in all industries relevant to our client. In parallel, an analysis of optimal legal setup was also performed to understand pros & cons and budget implications of various legal setup options in China and a recommendation on the optimal setup was given for the client. The project moved into implementation stage, and JLJ handled the corporate formation process for the client's new Foreign-Invested Commercial Enterprise (FICE) and will provide the full spectrum of HR and accounting services to support our client's business operations.
 

Grow the Business

Client A European retailer for super-premium Food & Beverage products.
Objective(s) After gaining an understanding of the market opportunity in China, the client wanted to enter and grow the market with its key products.
Project After conducting a focused analysis of the market to understand key market dynamics and regulatory compliance, we identified, approached and negotiated on behalf of the client with several potential distribution channels and successfully brought their products into the Chinese market. After the initial entry and subsequent growth in the market, JLJ continues to be critical in the project’s success, providing project management support, acting as liaison for ongoing communication and interaction with the distribution channels, and providing ongoing marketing support.
